Abhinav Soman

Programme Associate

Abhinav is a policy researcher focusing on sustainable mobility at The Council. Currently, he is working on evaluating ridesourcing for commuters in Delhi, and on modelling the penetration of electric vehicles and assessing its impact on the grid in various parts of Delhi. His research interests include strategies to decarbonize the transport sector, and enabling equitable access to mobility services and biofuels.

As part of his Masters thesis, he designed an intervention based on behavioural economics to increase uptake of public transportation in the UK. He has also worked with a range of SMEs in Bangalore, assisting them with adopting environmentally and socially sustainable practices through engagement on energy efficiency, water conservation and waste management.

Abhinav holds a Masters in Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge where he was a Chevening scholar. He has been an exchange student at Sciences Po and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from VIT University. He is a Young India Fellow from the 2014 cohort.
