Sachin Sharma

Programme Associate

Sachin is an energy engineer whose research is focused primarily on the power sector, energy efficiency, energy conservation, demand side management, and climate change mitigation.

Prior to joining The Council, he worked on demand-side management programmes in Maharashtra, analysing load patterns of DISCOMs and devising policies for effective management of electrical demand across the state. He has also worked on a project funded by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), which focused on increasing investments in energy efficiency measures by industries, especially MSMEs.

Sachin holds a undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University and a M.Tech in Energy Systems from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. He is an avid reader, plays cricket, follows tennis and soccer, and loves to explore new places.
