Anjaly John
Programme Associate
Anjaly works as a part of the Sustainable Food Systems team at the Council, where her research focuses on the nexus of agriculture, nutrition and the environment. Her journey in the food systems space began back in 2015, when she found herself in the midst of the desert wilderness of rural Rajasthan, helping rural women milk producers set up a Farmer Producer Company, while working with ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.
Anjaly’s rural experiences and her passion to contribute to development research inspired her to pursue a Masters in Economics from Madras School of Economics. Between 2018-2021, she worked with St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore. During this time, her work on agriculture-nutrition linkages in nutrient-dense foods, specifically in the context of rural agrarian Bihar, deepened her interest in the food systems space.
In keeping with her research interests in the food systems space, Anjaly loves to cook (with fresh produce). She enjoys a good Nordic Noir TV show, and is deeply interested in the science of time-restricted eating.
