Ankur Malyan
Research Analyst
Ankur is a researcher focusing on the policy aspects of energy and climate change. Currently he is working on the Global Change Assessment Model (GCAM) model, an integrated impact assessment modelling framework to explore the near- and long-term impacts in various sectors viz. industries, buildings, and power.
Prior to The Council, Ankur was associated with Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe) where he worked extensively on India’s Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDCs), specifically Goal 3 (reduction in national emission intensity). He worked on state level strategic actions for India’s INDCs through market-based business models and by developing the road-map for implementation of India’s NDC Goal 3 in industry, buildings, and agriculture.
He has co-authored a chapter titled ‘Climate Adaptation and Paris Agreement’ in the book Climate Change: India’s Perceptions, Policies and Expectations published by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India. He has also contributed to knowledge papers titled 'Sustainable Development Goals: Linkages with Corporate Actions in India' published by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and ‘Bundelkhand Water Vision Document’ for the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Water Resources Group (WRG) 2030. Ankur has also worked as a Research Intern with Thinkthrough Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (TTC) and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI).
Ankur holds an MSc in Environmental Studies and Resource Management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI-SAS) and an undergraduate honours degree in Chemistry from Kirorimal College, University of Delhi.
