Anuva Chowdhury

Research Analyst

Anuva is a Research Analyst with the Climate Risk Team at the Council.

Prior to joining the Council, Anuva worked as a consultant at IPE Global, New Delhi for the Composite Water Management Index 2019 and  as a coordinator for the Policy and Impact for WAPRO project at Partners in Prosperity, a not-for-profit organisation, based in New Delhi. She has worked with clients like Helvetas Swiss Inter-cooperation, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, UNDP, Welthungerhilfe, NITI Aayog Governments of India, and the state governments of West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Haryana. Her research interest focuses on climate refugees, natural hazards, GIS & remote sensing, community watershed management & development, environmental planning and map interpretation, water and river policy, eco-geomorphology, and geo-conservation.

Anuva is a Geographer by training with a post-graduation specialization in Physical Geography from Presidency University and a Postgraduate Diploma in GIS and RS from Jadavpur University. She has completed three internships, the first from Dept. of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay, the second from Water/Land Division, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India and the third from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (Giz).
