Communications Intern (Events and Media)

Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire an intern to join the Outreach team to support on a range of communication activities at CEEW, including organising events, developing communication material, and supporting on activities planned for CEEW’s 10th anniversary year.

The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space.

An ideal candidate should possess good project management skills, ability to liaison with third-party vendors, and basic design and writing skills. The candidate should be solution-oriented, detail-oriented and committed to adhering to timelines.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Support the Communications Associate in planning and organising roundtables, seminars, workshops, dialogues, and conferences.
  • .
  • Create event invites and other communications material (using online design tools such as Canva) with guidance from the Communications Associate.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors (event vendors, designers, printers, photographer/videographer) to ensure that event related collateral is prepared in given timelines and all requirements are communicated to the event vendors in a timely manner.
  • Brainstorm with the team to come up with creative engagement ideas for the event and work towards executing these.
  • Support the Communications Associate in event-related branding and logistics such as backdrops, brochures, conference badges, seating cards, seating plans, room layouts, etc.
  • Rigorous follow-ups with the invitees for confirmations on attendance. The intern will need to ensure that the database is updated daily to reflect confirmations that have come in through website registrations, emails and phone calls.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure that necessary logistical arrangements are made.
  • Provide on-ground support during CEEW events.
  • Keep a tab on CEEW media mentions and update these on a daily basis.

Selection Criteria

Qualification

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in events, communications, marketing or any related fields preferred
  • Knowledge of/experience in event management

Work experience and other skills

  • 0-1 years’ experience in event management or a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent grasp of English language
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
