Designation offered: Communications Consultant

Location: New Delhi, India

Reporting to: Communications Associate

Duration: 3 months (extendable basis mutual agreement)

Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire a consultant to join the Outreach team to support the Communications Associate to organise and manage CEEW's conference 'Energy Horizons'. The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space.

An ideal candidate should possess good project management skills and the ability to liaison with third-party vendors. The candidate should be solution-oriented, detail-oriented and committed to adhering to timelines.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Pre-event

  • Support the Communications Associate in liasoning with the event vendor to put together the layouts, show flow, collateral, etc. for the Energy Horizons.
  • Brainstorm with the team to come up with creative engagement ideas for the event and work towards executing these.
  • Support the Communications Associate in coordinating with the hotel for venue-related requirements and ensuring that relevant information is communicated to them in a timely manner.

Event days

  • Provide complete support in organising, managing vendor and guests, and ensuring the smooth running of Energy Horizons. Tasks will include but not be limited to:
    • Support in running sound and light checks and conducting dry-runs.
    • On-ground support in managing the vendor and helping resolve any issues that may crop up with regard to sound etc., movement of speakers from one hall to the other, overlooking the setup on the stage for each of the sessions.
    • Help with timekeeping.
    • Anticipating and managing any on-ground crisis

Selection Criteria

Qualification

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in events, communications, marketing or any related fields preferred
  • Experience in event management

Work experience and other skills

  • 1-2 years’ experience in event management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent grasp of English language
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
