Designation offered: Communications Intern

Location: New Delhi, India

Reporting to: Communications Associate

Duration: 3 months (extendable basis mutual agreement)

Number of positions: 2

Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire an intern to join the Outreach team to support on a range of communication activities for CEEW’s upcoming flagship conference, Energy Horizons. The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space.

An ideal candidate should possess good project management skills, ability to liaison with third-party vendors, and basic design and writing skills. The candidate should be solution-oriented, detail-oriented and committed to adhering to timelines.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors (event vendors, designers, printers, photographer/videographer) to ensure that event related collateral is prepared in given timelines and all requirements are communicated to the event vendors in a timely manner.
  • Brainstorm with the team to come up with creative engagement ideas for the event and work towards executing these.
  • Support the team in drafting invitation letters for key speakers/partners/delegates and coordinate with the teams to send these out.
  • Rigorous follow-ups with the invitees for confirmations on attendance. The intern will need to ensure that the database is updated daily to reflect confirmations that have come in through website registrations, emails and phone calls.
  • Manage the Energy Horizons email account and ensure that all queries are responded to (or redirected to the concerned persons) within a reasonable time frame.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to coordinate on logistical requirements such as travel and accommodation bookings.
  • Create event invites and other communications material (using online design tools such as Canva) with guidance from the Communications Associate.
  • Provide on-ground support during the two-day event.
  • Support the Communications Associate with post-event activities such as photo-curation, drafting of thank you letters, collation of media coverage, etc.

Selection Criteria

Qualification

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in events, communications, marketing or any related fields preferred
  • Knowledge of/experience in event management

Work experience and other skills

  • 1-2 years’ experience in event management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent grasp of English language
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
