Research Analyst

Sustainable Mobility

Job LocationNew Delhi


CEEW seeks to hire a Research Analyst to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on issues pertaining to decarbonization and sustainability of the transport sector. Research topics will include electric vehicles, public transport planning and emerging trends in mobility services. The individual should have experience with data analysis and exposure to transportation modelling tools including Agent Based Modelling, MATSim etc.

About the Assignment

  • To assist in progressing CEEW’s research in the transportation and mobility areas and find integration with other broader work areas.
  • To survey and analyse the research data including but not limited to travel demand surveys and household surveys using various data analysis tools.
  • To extrapolate and verify data provided by research analysts/senior researchers, evaluate, organise and edit the data into comprehensive standard report forms.
  • Carry out relevant literature review on transport sector related topics and summarize findings as reports.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Primary and secondary research on various facets of urban transportation
  • Engage in field work within and outside Delhi to carry out surveys and interviews with commuters, transport authorities and other stakeholders, if required
  • Assist team in outreach responsibilities
  • Write project report/issue briefs based on research

Selection Criteria


  • Enrolled in (or completed) a Bachelor/Master’s degree with specialisation in transport planning, sustainable development, engineering, economics, energy or environment related disciplines. Background in engineering, public policy or economics

Key skills

  • Strong analytical skills with exposure to relevant tools for data analysis and modelling
  • Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic and fluid environment
  • Must be adept at using MS-office suite (word, excel, and power point presentations)
  • Experience in qualitative research is desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
