Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire an intern to support its initiative for a period of six months.

The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) is committed to promoting gender diversity in sustainability. To promote greater participation, inclusiveness, and visibility of women at all levels in the sustainability workforce, in 2017, CEEW launched an initiative called Women in Sustainability (WiS). WiS is a network of individuals and institutions committed to promote greater participation, inclusiveness, and visibility of women at all levels of the public policy workforce. A voluntary initiative, WiS is open to all genders, that provides a platform for women in India’s sustainability sector to share their stories and meet role models, and mentor women sustainability leaders of tomorrow. WiS also hosts lectures, roundtable discussions, reading and talks to understand and work on gender issues impacting the work place.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • WiS initiative responsibilities Support the core team in developing workable plan for interventions and outreach for the initiative
  • Support the co-chairs to fill in the gaps in research and contribute to the thinking around the initiative
  • Create a database of partners for potential collaborations around decided interventions under the initiative
  • Schedule meetings and discussion with a diverse set of public policy research institutions and donors in the sustainability sector.

WiS event responsibilities

  • Lead and support the WiS team to develop a background note, invite, presentations, workplan etc for the WiS annual event in June
  • Support in the overall execution of the event
  • Support the co-chairs in developing the list of speakers for the event
  • Schedule meetings and accompany the co-chairs in discussions with the potential speakers
  • Create a list of invitees for the event
  • Work closely with the Outreach team for effective planning and execution of the event

Selection Criteria

Education

  • Candidate should possess Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, subject no bar
  • Candidate should be aware of and be interested to work in sustainability and gender in workplace issues

Main skills

  • Ability to make presentations and write about the initiative
  • Ability to organise events with limited guidance
  • Ability to reach out to new people for partnerships/collaborations
  • Ability to conduct desk-based research

Compensation

Competitive compensation – commensurate to the experience and matching the best of standards adopted by industry or other similar organizations for similar roles.
