Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire a short-term Communications Consultant with exceptional project management skills to join the Outreach team. The role will be crucial to further raise the bar of CEEW’s events and media outreach, and support other strategic Outreach activities. It will showcase the vast range of research that CEEW undertakes to a wide constituency—comprising government, industry, civil society, media, and the public at large. The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space.

The candidate must have project management experience. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work across teams and manage multiple priorities and should be detail-oriented and committed to adhering to timelines.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Events

  • Assist the Events Lead in the Outreach team with conceptualising and managing large-scale or innovative events across various cities and countries.
  • Collaborate with event agencies, hotels, external designers, and other vendors to ensure successful event execution.
  • Provide support with event branding and logistics, including managing invitations, backdrops, and seating arrangements.
  • Proficient in using Canva for design tasks and Mailchimp for bulk email communications.
  • Handle vendor onboarding, contracts, requisitions, and create post-event evaluation documents for the finance team.
  • Offer on-site support during CEEW events, coordinate with internal teams for webpage curation and social media event posts.
  • Stay informed about contemporary communication trends across sectors and recommend and implement relevant trends for CEEW events in collaboration with the Events Lead.
  • Ensure adherence to CEEW's branding guidelines.

Other Outreach activities

  • Support the Communications Lead on any other outreach activities across verticals
  • Handle Reporting and Analytics Requests, as required, for the team
  • Assist with program implementation, including help with preparing presentations.
  • Assist with planning and executing events such as report launches, consultation workshops, round table discussions, etc.
  • Participate constructively in weekly team meetings.
  • Provide inputs on research methodology and data analysis tools.

Selection Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Preferably Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or any related fields.

Work experience

  • 0-3 years. Candidates in the final semesters of their Bachelor’s/Master’s can apply.

Work experience and other skills

  • Previous experience in organising and managing events and media engagement.
  • Proven track record in producing high-quality written content across various mediums.
  • Experience with the media, development sector, or PR organisations is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of Canva and Mailchimp.
  • Keen eye for detail & creative thinker with a history of successful, innovative content ideas.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Self-motivated, proactive & Willingness to travel as needed for projects.
