The Outreach team seeks to hire a candidate who can raise the bar on CEEW’s video productions. An ideal candidate should have an excellent sense of visual aesthetics, storytelling and script writing abilities. This role would be crucial in translating technical information and research into lucid videos and films. The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead CEEW’s in-house video productions end-to-end (script writing, filming, editing, audio balancing, sub-titling, format exporting, color grading etc.) 
  • Conceptualise and produce explainer videos with motion graphics and animations.
  • Rethink and conceptualise a variety of video templates for explainers, quick reaction bytes, interviews and other formats.
  • Work closely with Communication Specialists on brand films and documentary projects.
  • Edit video bytes of special events as and when required
  • Develop a strategy for CEEW’s Youtube channel and for the use of videos on other social media platforms
  • Support research teams in documenting field visits
  • Archive CEEW’s video productions
  • Conceptualise and lead productions based on virtual reality and immersive storytelling
  • Stay up to date with new formats and developments in the world of filmmaking and visual storytelling

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors (production houses, studios, designers, data visualisers, photographers/videographers, printers) to ensure that videos and other communication collaterals are produced within given timelines and all requirements are communicated to the vendors in a timely manner.
  • Brainstorm to come up with fresh outreach ideas and work towards executing these.
  • Provide on-ground support during CEEW events.

Selection Criteria


  • Preferably Masters in Mass Communication/ Documentary Filmmaking/Visual Anthropology or related filmmaking courses

Experience and Other Skills

  • At least two to four years of experience in film production, videography/video editing
  • Proven experience in managing video and film productions end-to-end
  • Proficient in working with editing softwares such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Da Vinci Resolve
  • Proficient in handling mirrorless and DSLR cameras
  • Knowledge of motion graphics design and illustration capabilities will be an asset
  • Experience covering social, humanitarian and development issue will be an asset
  • Interest in virtual reality will be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An eye for details 
  • Excellent grasp of the English language
