Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire an Events Lead with exceptional project management and event management skills to join the Outreach team. The role will be crucial to further raise the bar of CEEW’s events. It will showcase the vast range of research that CEEW undertakes to a wide constituency— comprising government, industry, civil society, media, and the public at large.
The candidate will get exposure to the inner workings of one of India’s leading think tanks and will have the opportunity to understand the stakeholders that play a key role in the energy and environment space. The candidate must have experience in organising large-scale events. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work across teams and manage multiple priorities, be detail-oriented, and committed to adhering to timelines.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Events
- Set, monitor, and maintain oversight of event strategy, delivery, and development for CEEW.
- Plan, schedule, manage, organise and publicise conferences, workshops, roundtables, public discussions, high-level meetings, and media briefings (virtual and on-ground).
- Lead the management of the exhibition space at the CEEW office.
- Work closely with the HR team to conceptualise, coordinate, and execute important internal events for the team.
- Identify and execute opportunities to take brand CEEW and its research to the common citizens.
- Create event invites and other communications material (using online design tools such as Canva).
- Supervise and mentor outreach associates, consultants, and interns as and when required.
- Work with research teams to determine event budgets and manage expenses to that budget.
- Identify and liaise with event agencies, hotels, designers, multimedia specialists, and other vendors with support from the team.
- In charge of all event-related branding and logistics such as event invitations, backdrops, conference badges, seating plans, room layouts, etc.
- Brainstorm with the team to come up with creative engagement ideas for the event and work towards executing these.
- Ensure strict adherence to CEEW branding guidelines.
Additional responsibilities
- Explore emerging formats, platforms and mediums for CEEW to publicise its research and mainstream sustainability.
- Periodically contribute to the wider creative and operational strategy of CEEW’s outreach team.
- Contribute to the highest managerial standards, personal development strategy, and workplace culture.
- Training and Managing a full time intern aligned for Events and a shared resource for Events & Media
Selection Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Preferably Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or any related fields.
Work experience and other skills
- 7-10 years’ experience
- Prior experience in organising and managing large-scale, high-quality events for leading brands.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality written content for different mediums.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent grasp of English language.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent eye for detail.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success in implementing out-of-the-box content ideas.
- Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Strong drive and initiative, a self-starter.
- The candidate should be willing to travel.
