Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a suitable intern with an understanding of the technical and behavioural aspects of gender and social inclusion for its USAID funded Cleaner Air & Better Health project. The intern will support the development of a comprehensive guidebook focused on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) in Air Pollution Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gender studies, social inclusion, or environmental health, and will be passionate about creating impactful resources that promote equity and inclusivity in environmental strategies. Job Duties and Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth literature reviews on GESI concepts and their application in air pollution management.
- Collaborate with various project teams to gather sector-specific data and examples.
- Assist in drafting sections of the handbook, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with GESI principles.
- Identify and document GESI-sensitive indicators and data management practices relevant to air pollution.
- Develop practical examples, templates, and tools to be included in the guidebook.
- Support the creation of data visualizations and reports that highlight gender and social disparities in air pollution impacts.
Selection criteria
Qualification
- A degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- Experience in research, particularly in gender equity, social inclusion, or environmental management.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with GESI data collection methods and analysis is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
Compensation
Competitive compensation – commensurate to the experience and matching the best of standards adopted by industry or other similar organisations for similar roles.
