Duration 3 months
Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate with an understanding of the power sector landscape of Uttar Pradesh. Our power sector programme is driven with the mission to support Uttar Pradesh’s $1 trillion economy vision by examining and promoting operational, financial, and environmental sustainability throughout the value chain of the electricity sector through evidence based objective research and cutting-edge analytical approaches. We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and detail-oriented researcher with a specific focus on understanding policy, regulatory, and market hurdles in the evolving power landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
The successful applicant will assist fellow researchers in undertaking robust quantitative and qualitative analysis. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the candidate should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities and respond to events and developments that cannot be anticipated easily.
Job duties and accountabilities
Research
- Assist in coordination with district government representatives, to communicate project information and goals, and monitor progress toward achieving them.
- Conduct data analysis using a variety of tools (e.g., MS Excel, STATA), generate reports and monitor progress.
- Analyse survey data, collaborate with stakeholders to interpret findings, and document results effectively.
- Assist in developing training materials and work with the outreach team to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Document program related activities and outcomes.

Selection Criteria
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in rural management, statistics, engineering, public policy, energy economics or related field.
- Previous internships in any related fields would be an advantage
Key skills
- Must have strong technical expertise and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must. Experience with visualisation tools like tableau and spatial analysis tools would be a bonus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to summarise and communicate the insights/findings as reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English is a must; proficiency in multiple languages is preferred.
- Experience in dealing with different stakeholders, including central and state government officials, discom officials, and researchers is essential.
