Designation offered: Programme Lead

Reporting to: Senior Programme Lead

Location: New Delhi

CEEW seeks to hire a Programme Lead for its Industrial Sustainability and Competitiveness (ISC) team. The ISC team leads a wide range of focus areas related to energy transition, technology development, innovation, critical mineral resources, circular economy, and carbon management. Within the energy transition focus area, we are actively seeking to engage with the MSME sector to look for options to decarbonise and improve their energy efficiency. The challenge, however, is the limited awareness, technical knowhow, financial ability, and priority for this largely informal sector. The decarbonisation of MSMEs also has an air pollutions implication with most of the enterprises using the dirtiest of fuels such as coal, petcoke, furnace oil and diesel, all of which are significant air pollutants. Energy efficiency is another area where MSME lag behind their larger formal sector peers. CEEW is looking for an experienced hire to develop our energy transition and energy efficiency work in the MSME space.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

  • Develop innovative solutions to energy transition and energy efficiency (EE) in the MSME sector. This includes developing business and finance models, policy support, and incentive mechanisms for deployment of solutions in the sector.
  • Developing and deploying pilots as proof of concept for decarbonising the sector for power and thermal needs.
  • Deploying EE measurement and optimisation tools in the MSME sector. Collaborating with tool developers for customising it to various industrial sectors.
  • Evaluate the potential for deploying solutions at scale and identify the policy mechanisms that can be utilised to scale-up the deployment.
  • Build capacity within the MSME sector for scaling up and sustaining EE and energy transition measures.
  • Develop training modules for generating awareness and technical capability of MSME employees.
  • Direct or delegate tasks to juniors for specific projects and geographies.
  • Develop research outputs in various forms such as publications, journal papers, reports, op-eds, and articles.
  • Work with senior researchers on conceptualising new projects (as and when needed) and support revenue generation for new projects.
  • To participate in relevant conferences, workshops, training programmes as necessary to communicate research findings and gain insights on new research in focus areas.
  • Support efforts to use new media platforms for the wide dissemination of CEEW's work and, in turn, closer engagement with the wider community.
