Purpose
CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Research Analyst to expand its work in the Air Quality domain. As a Research Analyst, your role will be crucial in advancing our work in driving transformative changes through innovative research and policy solutions. Your work, as a Research analyst, will extend across various themes including air quality monitoring and measurement, understanding challenges in regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, research, data analysis and technical writing. This role requires you to stay updated about various sector-specific or cross-sectoral policy measures (like the C&D Management Rules 2016, the National Clean Air Programme etc.) for managing air quality. You should have a strong interest in these policy narratives by the government, and their implementation status at either the state or the city level to carry out policy evaluation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Assistance
Air quality monitoring at the construction sites
- To assist in CEEW’s ongoing research related to air quality management at the construction site. This includes the QA/QC and analysis of the data captured through the air quality monitors.
- To conduct a comprehensive literature review, Identifying key research questions, collecting data and conducting data analyses using appropriate qualitative and quantitative approaches for the econometric analysis of clean construction.
Air quality data from urban centres
- To manage the network of air quality monitors across multiple sites. Management (research and field) would include the co-location of sensors, and maintaining a database of air quality monitors.
- This being a partner-facing role, we expect you to exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to build rapport, understand partner needs, and collaborate effectively
- Assist or preferably independently write high-quality research reports, presentations, and fact sheets with actionable insights, informing stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
Education
- Master’s degree with a specialisation in environmental engineering/economics or a related field
- Should have a research background, including an understanding of experimental and analytical research
Business Experience
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience, preferably in the Air Quality domain
- Experience in project assistance and timely delivery of outputs
- Experience in dealing with public and private stakeholders
Desirable skills
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research techniques, with intermediate experience in data analysis tools including any programming skill like R or Python
- Understanding of statistical approaches for data analysis, or econometric analyses
- Familiarity with public policy research techniques and tools is desirable
- The ability to undertake mapping analysis using GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine), is desirable
