Distributed renewables are critical to India’s transition to clean energy. Accelerated deployment of DRE requires action on three fronts – nudging the consumer to adopt new technologies, identifying solutions with equitable incentives for stakeholders and facilitating the process with conducive policies and regulations.

CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Research Analyst in the Renewable Energy (Distributed Renewables) team to expand its ongoing research work on grid-interactive distributed technologies. We are looking for a self-starter and impact-oriented researcher to bring out issues in accelerating renewable energy deployment from margin to mainstream. The candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of tariff mechanisms, state-level policies and regulations pertaining to distributed renewables, preparing and executing large surveys, profound understanding of consumer behaviour, and the power market. CEEW offers an intellectually challenging and conducive work environment focusing on research rigour, innovative thinking, and consensus-building.

The Renewable Energy team is one of the seven focus areas at the CEEW. Our work supports India’s - and the world’s - clean energy transition. It does so through timely, research-based interventions based on extensive policy, regulatory, market analyses and consumer-centric surveys. The team works on designing fit-for-purpose solutions that bring RE from the margins to the mainstream of power sector planning, operations and governance. We recommend applicants visit renewable energy team page on CEEW website for more details about our projects.

The successful applicant will assist fellow researchers in undertaking robust quantitative and qualitative analysis. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the candidate should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities and respond to events and developments that cannot be anticipated easily.
