Purpose

The Clean Air team at CEEW seeks to hire a Research Analyst with good data analysis skills to assist the team’s research on air quality data and emission estimates. The role primarily involves analysing the cost-effectiveness of different policy measures. The candidate is expected to have good data analysis and presentation skills.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities below, the individual should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as and when necessary.

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Primary Responsibilities

Research

  • Utilise existing data to assess the effects of outdoor air pollution sources (road dust, vehicular emissions) across different spatiotemporal scales, including seasonal variations.
  • Conduct research on the long-term spatiotemporal variation in air pollutants by analysing satellite data, and identifying and evaluating primary sources of air pollution in the targeted geographies.
  • Generate high-quality research reports, policy briefs and publications in leading peer- reviewed journals. Generate other knowledge products such as blogs, policy briefs, etc., at regular intervals.

Programme assistance

  • Support effective outreach of research outputs through coordination with the outreach team and engagement with a broader network of stakeholders and concerned policymakers.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of developments relevant to the air quality sector.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality knowledge products, including reports, presentations, and policy briefs on pre-consumer textile waste.

Selection Criteria

Qualification

  • Master's in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering and related fields.

Work experience

  • 0-2 years of experience.

Work experience

  • Ability to work with a programming language (preferably R or Python).
  • Ability to present the work in a lucid manner.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success in implementing out-of-the-box content ideas.
  • Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong drive and initiative, a self-starter.
