The CEEW Centre for Energy Finance is looking to hire a Research Analyst to lead the work on development of web-based products - dashboards, tools and website. Web-based products are increasingly becoming an important medium to communicate the key research findings. They also increase the transparency in the sector leading to greater flow of finance. CEEW-CEF has launched many web-based products in the recent past and the candidate will be expected to take ownership in maintaining the existing ones and creating new ones to further India’s energy transition. He/she will be expected to coordinate with external web-developers to design the same.

Job Duties and Accountabilities


  • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify trends and generate insights – primarily in solar, wind, EV and storage.
  • Regularly conduct research to benchmark CEEW-CEF’s offerings and design a plan for improvement.
  • Review large amounts of data and analyse information using a variety of mathematical tools and interdisciplinary methodologies.
  • Contribute to the teams’ research objectives to the extent that your skillset adds value to the output, on request or otherwise.
  • Present dashboards/tools to external stakeholders.


  • Be responsible for maintenance of the CEEW-CEF website.
  • Basic understanding of Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS (Including version 3), JavaScript, and API’s.
  • Familiarity and relevant experience in using different Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Hands-on technical skills in Google Analytics to generate CEF website users report.
  • Working experience in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Maintain regular backups of the database and local directories for recovery.
  • Work closely with the team and ensure that data is relevant and updated on the dashboards, tools and website.
  • Design and implement a strategy to increase traffic to dashboards and tools developed by the team.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of the new web-based products - lifecycle; identify market requirements, create preliminary design concepts and drive implementation of overall product roadmap.
  • Work cross-functionally across teams (internally and externally) to build delightful user experiences and ensure timely releases (For example, India renewables dashboard, Electric mobility dashboard, Open access tool, etc).
  • Define success metrics and continuously iterate to achieve the same.
  • Regularly interact with key stakeholders (industry, policymakers and investors) to gauge user feedback.
  • Work with CEF team members on innovative data visualisation methods/techniques to disseminate research/analysis

Programme Assistance

  • Assist with project implementation, including preparing presentations, factsheets, and other communication material.
  • Assist administrative team for organisation of relevant events (whenever needed).
  • Support efforts to use new media platforms for wide dissemination of CEEW’s work and, in turn, closer engagement with the wider community.
  • Open to travel to project sites and India and outside.

Selection Criteria


  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Application, Design or similar degrees.
  • Basic understanding of electricity sector (specifically solar, wind, EV and energy storage) and its regulatory/commercial landscape.

Main skills

  • Understanding of the energy and power sector in India.
  • Possesses problem-solving skills - able to deal with ambiguity and uncertainties.
  • Adept in data analytics to uncover actionable insights for the team.
  • A basic understanding of design, UX and growth.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics, Data Studio and Search Engine Optimisation.
  • Basic understanding of applications like WordPress and web-development tools like Ruby on Rails and Python.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be adept user of MS-office suit (Word, Excel, Power Point).
