Designation offered: Research Intern B – Energy Storage
Reporting to: Research Analyst 
Location: New Delhi, India / Online
Duration: 3-6 months

 

Purpose: 
CEEW seeks to hire a Research Intern to expand its ongoing research work on the energy storage sector. The candidate will be primarily responsible for a) driving engagement with industry and government stakeholders in the energy storage sector, b) researching and mapping out the policy and regulatory landscape relating to energy storage in India, and c) contribute to market research being undertaken by the team. CEEW offers an intellectually challenging and conducive work environment, with a focus on research rigour, innovative thinking, and consensus-building.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

The successful applicant will assist fellow researchers in building programme-level capacity in the energy storage sector. Outlined below are the key duties and responsibilities of this role.

Research

  • Identify research questions, approaches, methodologies and tools to actively track the evolving energy storage space.
  • Review policies and regulations implemented at the national and international level relating both directly to energy storage, as well as associated sectors such as renewable energy, electric mobility and the broader power sector.
  • Assist in the research, analysis and drafting of research publications and editorials, particularly with respect to financial and policy-related subject matter.

Programme Assistance

  • Assist in building databases of key policies, organisations and institutions in the energy storage sector. 
  • Assist with programme structuring and project implementation, including preparing presentations, factsheets and other communication material. 
  • Contribute to reports and other research products as part of the research team. 
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement by actively tracking key stakeholders, following up and organising interaction sessions. 
  • Accompany team members for meetings with other stakeholders; prepare minutes of the meetings and assist with relevant follow up.
  • Assist in organising webinars, workshops and roundtables as part of the team’s outreach activities.
  • Participate in various team meetings.

Selection Criteria

Education

  • Enrolled in or completed Master’s degree/Bachelor’s degree with a specialisation in economics, public policy, law or any other relevant field. 
  • Previous internships in any related fields would be an advantage. 

Main skills

  • Must be able to co-ordinate multiple projects and take initiative to drive programme-level development 
  • Must have familiarity with public policy and/or the energy sector
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders (industry, academic, government etc.) preferred
