Designation offered Research Intern C: Sustainable Mobility

Reporting toSenior Programme Lead

Location Delhi, remote

Duration 6 months, starting February 2022

Job Summary:

CEEW seeks to hire a research intern who will work with the mobility team to carry out siting of EV charging infrastructure (including point chargers and battery swapping stations), EV route rationalization, depot and terminal planning, Parking planning etc in Indian cities. This includes identification of suitable urban locations in for siting e-2W, e-3W, and e-4W infrastructure. Additionally, the project also aims at developing alternative EV charging network on highways in India.

To carry out extensive big data analysis with relevance to sustainable mobility. We are looking for someone with experience in capturing, storing, analysing and visualising spatial data using Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data science. Candidate should be familiar with geospatial libraries such as GDAL and rasterio. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out quantitative and spatial data analysis pertaining to the project.
  • Conduct additional analyses involving combination of multiple complex data layers, network analysis and detailed visualisation of the outputs.
  • Carry out data integration, and interact with professionals from the sector.
  • Assist the team in generating snackable insights and compelling data visuals for the organisation’s social media platforms
  • Carry out relevant literature reviews and summarize findings as reports.
  • Assist administrative team for organization of relevant events (whenever needed)

Selection Criteria

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with specialisation in data science, geoinformatics, energy, public policy, operations research
  • Candidates with prior research experience of analysing big data and conducting geospatial analysis are desirable.
  • Interest in the transport and energy sector in India.

Key Skills

  • Experience carrying out data analysis on programmes such as QGIS, Google Earth engine, Python, R are a pre-requisite
  • Must have strong research skills – capability to carry out literature review is a key requisite, familiarity with research methods is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders (industry, academic, government etc.) preferred
