Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) has been Great Place to Work-Certified™.
At CEEW, we are deliberate about what we stand for (and what we don’t stand for!) as an employer. So, if the below description strikes a chord, we would love to hear from you!
At CEEW, we build careers in public policy
CEEW seeks to hire an Intern (01 position) who will assist in research and strategic communication in the space of climate change and negotiations. CEEW offers an intellectually challenging and conducive work environment, with a focus on research rigour, innovative thinking, and strategic outreach.
CEEW under climate negotiations programme intends on improvising domestic arenas towards addressing climate action and cater to the development of politically sensitive subjects under the convention such as Capacity building, Transparency, Market mechanism and Ambitions gaps. Our research on climate change includes developing assessment tools for capacity building, technical evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions, developing institutional arrangements for measuring reporting and verification of mitigation actions, and advising and contributing to climate negotiations, especially towards formulating guidelines of the Paris Agreement rule-book.
We intend to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the past climate actions (pre-2020) by the developed countries. The purpose is to understand the status quo, explore possible ways towards bridging the commitment gaps and provide critical inputs to the round table at COP26, where countries, along with non-party stakeholders, would deliberate on the implementation and ambitions of pre-2020 efforts. The research intern is being hired to assist the fellow researchers in undertaking programmatic and research activities of this initiative.
Competitive compensation – commensurate to the experience and matching the best of standards adopted by industry or other similar organisations for similar roles.
Interested candidates are requested to share their curriculum vitae (CV) and cover letter explaining their interest in the position (in one PDF) and send it to jobs@ceew.in with ‘Application – Research Intern for Climate Negotiations’ as the subject line. Please do not contact individual researchers for any open position. We are an equal opportunities employer and female candidates are encouraged to apply. Last date for application is 30 November 2020. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified by us.
