Gyanesh Gupta

Research Analyst

Gyanesh Gupta is a Research Analyst with the Power Markets team at the Council. Prior to joining CEEW, he was a Senior Research Fellow at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. Gyanesh has dedicated his efforts to research topics encompassing building energy consumption, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency benchmarking in residential buildings. He has also served as an Assistant Professor, providing guidance and teaching at the Engineering University of Jaipur.

Gyanesh holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a post-graduation in Energy Engineering from Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU), Jaipur. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Building Energy Benchmarking and Energy Efficiency at MNIT Jaipur's Centre for Energy and Environment. In the course of his doctoral research, he has developed a blended model for residential building energy prediction which combines multiple methodologies to enhance accuracy and reliability. He also introduced a novel key performance indicator specifically designed to quantify the energy performance of residential buildings. He has expertise in meta-data collection, surveying, and long-term monitoring, with proficiency in conducting comprehensive data analysis and statistics for city-wide data.

Outside of work, Gyanesh enjoys going on outings with friends and family. He firmly believes in the power of knowledge acquisition through reading and researching to deepen understanding and contribute to sustainable development worldwide.
