Himanshu Dixit

Programme Associate

A budding public policy professional, Himanshu joined The Council in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic as a research analyst in the Technology, Finance and Trade (TFT) team. He supports the policy work on the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol by nudging for an enhanced R&D ecosystem for energy-efficient and low GWP cooling technologies.

Before joining The Council, he did a brief stint as a copywriter and marketer in Mumbai. Smitten by the start-up bug, he also worked with a Sequoia-backed marketplace for insurance products, Turtlemint, and ended up learning a few things about scaling tech businesses.

Himanshu finished his master’s in public policy (MPP) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in 2020. He explored statistical applications of satellite captured Nighttime lights data to predict economic activity as part of his dissertation work. He also holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He researched and published on mechanical properties of DNA molecules using molecular dynamics simulation in the broad area of computational chemistry. When not working, he likes to keep track of all things old and new in arts, cinema and literature.
