Jhanvi Madan has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Industrial Sustainability team. She will focus on mapping and advancing the decarbonization efforts for the chemical and petrochemical industry in India. She recently completed her Masters in Industrial Chemistry from National University of Singapore and Technical University of Munich. Her academic and research journey culminated in her master’s thesis on developing stable silica dispersions in organic media—research with significant applications in greener coatings, adhesives, and catalysis. This earned her the Best Student and Best Thesis Awards from Evonik and her university.
Beyond academics, Jhanvi is a people-oriented person. As a student body representative and president of the fashion society, she organized community events, fashion events, and workshops. She secured full scholarships like DAAD and Women in STEM to fund her retail therapy and academics.
Jhanvi enjoys traveling (though only internationally—why settle?), binge-watching Korean dramas, and cooking as her go-to stress buster. A potential culinary career was lovingly vetoed by her Punjabi parents, who clearly had other plans—thanks, mom and dad! This is also how she accidentally became the go-to person for humour and sarcasm at family dinners.
