Kavita Vij is the Engagement Lead in the Growth and Institutional Advancement team at The Council. Prior to joining the Council, Kavita served as the Grants and Partnerships Manager at Climate Policy Initiative where she was also responsible for funders, partners and government relationship management, monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment of grant-funded projects. She has about 20 years of experience with global and Indian companies in climate, energy, infrastructure and finance, non-profits, and academic institutions and has worked for Prosus, Indian School of Business (ISB), Infrastructure Development and Finance Company (IDFC) and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS).

Kavita's cross-functional expertise includes managing grants and partnerships, fundraising, improving operational processes in financial institutions like IDFC and IL&FS, and public policy program marketing initiatives. She has also been involved in managing senior executive academic programs and engaging with policymakers to deliver social impact programs.

Kavita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Delhi University and a postgraduate degree in Management from Symbiosis University. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt professional and is currently pursuing a General Management Program with a specialization in Leadership and Strategy from the Indian School of Business.
