Programme Lead

Dr. Naveen Bali works as a Programme Lead in the Industrial Sustainability and Competitiveness team.  He is also part of the core faculty pool in two professional courses namely Graduate Insolvency Professional and the 9-month Valuation certificate program at IICA, Gurugram. Earlier, he worked as a Consultant to the Principal Economic Adviser of India, Ministry of Finance. Naveen possesses over eight years of experience in the field of policymaking and academics and has been involved in various policies/ reforms including India’s response to COVID.

Naveen has worked on three Economic Surveys and has co-authored a total of four chapters in the Economic Surveys of 2018-19, 2020-21 and Economic Survey 2021-22. During 2019, he was heading the “Centre of Sustainable Excellence” and was the Co-Director – Forum for Indian Regulator (FOIR) at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Gurugram.

Additionally, Naveen has been involved in various projects and reports for the Parliament and various government ministries and bodies. In 2018, he worked as a part of the “Research and Regulation Wing” of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India and served as a Capacity-Building Officer for Insolvency professionals.

Naveen completed his Ph.D. in economics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) in June 2015. Naveen has been the recipient of a short-term fellowship from Utrecht University, the Netherlands in 2008. He has also published a paper titled “Sustainable performance-oriented production practices in the Indian iron and steel industry: An empirical investigation” in the Journal of Cleaner Production in 2019.
