CEEW Ranked as South Asia’s Top Think Tank Operating Under $5 Million Budget

For the fifth year in a row, the ‘2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index’ has ranked the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) as South Asia’s top think tank (14th globally) with an annual operating budget of less than USD 5 million. The Council has also featured in eight other categories including ‘Best Managed Think Tanks’ (74th globally) and ‘Best Independent Think Tanks’ (125th globally).

Released in January 2018 by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, the Global Go To Think Tank Index listed more than 440 think tanks in India. The 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index is recognised as the most comprehensive global ranking of the world’s leading think tanks, considering 6,846 think tanks worldwide. It is compiled with assistance from more than 3,750 experts including university faculty and administrators, journalists, policymakers, think tank scholars and executives, and donors from around the world.

Coming from diverse backgrounds, the CEEW team prides itself on the institution's interdisciplinary research.
