Niharika Mehrotra

Research Consultant

Niharika has joined The Council as a Research Consultant with the Next Generation India Fellowship. Her work focuses on crafting the Our Future India report in partnership with the Next Generation India Fellows and the UN Foundation's 'Our Future Agenda' team.

Prior to joining The Council, Niharika completed her postgraduate studies with a distinction in MSc International Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In this program, Niharika examined the intersection of gender and energy policy, focusing on how women’s autonomy within households influences the adoption of LPG as a clean cooking fuel in India. Through her dissertation, she explored the structural and behavioural factors shaping household energy transitions, contributing to discussions on gender-responsive energy policies and sustainable development.

Outside of work, Niharika loves listening to podcasts, going to the gym and eating junk food. Her stress buster is coffee, coffee and more coffee.
