At the Council, Paras Bhattarai works as a Research Analyst with the power team. He focuses on estimating residential electricity consumption in India using the India Residential Energy Survey(IRES) 2020 and finding the gaps in billing, collection, and changes in electricity consumption for smart and non-smart meter households and improvements in billing. Currently, his work revolves on feeder turn around where he will help map out interventions to improve billing, consumer grievances solution, and collection improvement in one of the feeders in Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (MVVNL).

Paras has a Masters degree in Statistics. He has an interest in surveys, analysis, and Machine learning with a working knowledge of R and python.

When not working, Paras enjoys music and movies. He also loves to explore the city at night and enjoys trying out the best food available.
