Payal Saxena

Programme Associate

Payal Saxena is a Programme Associate in the Renewables team at The Council. She is passionate about systemic efficiency and the energy transition. She is keenly working on policy reforms, new ideas and thought processes towards a sustainable environment, energy access, and climate change. She is a dynamic, industrious professional, who has always been a part of innovative and advanced research in the challenging and emerging field of energy.

Formerly, she worked with a renewable energy consulting firm for 5 years and gained experience in cross-functional segments such as EV, Solar, Wind, BioCNG, and Battery Energy Storage System. She has provided techno-commercial advisory services to key clients from concept to commissioning of PV projects (rooftop/floating solar/ground mounted/canal-top), prepared proposals and strategic roadmaps for RE100 & EV100, carried out policy mapping, financial analysis (As is & to- be analysis) and prepared white papers for key clients and stakeholders (developers/lenders/Govt officials etc).  She was nominated for “Asia’s Most Influential Women in Renewable Energy in 2020” by SolarQuater.

She holds a BTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from SSCET, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, and an MTech in Energy Technology from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra-Ranchi, Jharkhand. During her master’s, she underwent internships at the Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI- Gandhinagar, Gujarat) and Raja Ramanna Centre of Advance Technology (RRCAT- Indore, Madhya Pradesh), which were fully focused on research, designing and fabrication of electrostatic energy harvester using synchrotron unit facility of Beam Line-07 (X-Ray Lithography).
