Satheskumar is a Programme Associate and is focussing on India’s food system and its peculiar challenges as a part of Sustainable Food Systems team at The Council. He is currently working on understanding and scaling up community-led natural farming in India. He was previously with TechnoServe India, an NGO, for an agriculture & rural-entrepreneurship project. As a part of the project, he worked with farmer producer organisations and rural women in Madhya Pradesh.
Satheskumar was a part of the Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University. Before that, he studied energy and environmental engineering at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. He loves to understand and grapple with complex systems, especially those that focus on climate, energy and agriculture. He also indulges himself by reading about existentialism and political philosophy. His other interests include reading and listening to books and podcasts in Tamil & English.
Satheskumar follows cricket and chess closely. He would like to travel more in the post-COVID world.
