Sonali is a Programme Associate with the Energy Transitions team. Her work at the Council focuses on solar and wind related projects. Her current research interests include solar energy, supply chains, agrovoltaics, reliability of photovoltaic modules, top coatings, and lifetime prediction studies.

Her proficiency in comprehending complex data and converting it into valuable insights has been a key driver of her professional career. Prior to joining the Council, she worked as a Senior Research Associate at National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE), IIT Bombay, where she focussed on developing a standard for performance evaluation of anti-soiling coatings. She has also worked as a Project Research Assistant at Solar Energy Research Institute for India and the United States, IIT Bombay. She was involved with the All India Survey team, where she evaluated modules that have been affected by various degradation mechanisms in the Indian climate.

Sonali holds an M.Tech degree in Energy Engineering from the Central University of Jharkhand and a PhD from IIT Bombay.
