Aparna Sharma

Programme Lead

Aparna is a public policy professional with around ten years of experience in international trade and economic cooperation.

Before joining CEEW, Aparna worked as an Associate (Grade A Officer) with NITI Aayog and was responsible for formalizing discussions and strategic documents on NITI’s economic dialogues with partner nations such as Russia, Germany, Australia, and Canada (Saskatchewan). She was also part of the trade team and undertook research and analysis on India’s trade-related matters, including FTAs.

Prior to joining NITI, Aparna worked as an Assistant Direct at FICCI where she led the Medical Value Travel and AYUSH sector committees. She was responsible for handling international conferences, stakeholder consultations, and undertaking policy research.

Aparna has been a lead presenter throughout her career, representing her organisation at various national and international forums. She obtained her master's degree in Economics from TERI University and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi.

Outside of work, Aparna enjoys reading, her favourite genres being historical fiction, epic fantasy, and non-fiction. A morning person and a running enthusiast, she enjoys a daily 5k run outdoors.
