Virendra Ade

Consultant

Virendra is a Consultant on the Industrial Sustainability Team at the Council. His research focuses on decarbonisation pathways for Indian industries and energy transition to cleaner fuels, primarily green hydrogen and natural gas.

Before joining the Council, Virendra was a civil services aspirant and qualified for the UPSC Mains 2023 examination. His interest in climate policy stems from his civil services preparation days, where he was fascinated by the interplay of complex economic and environmental issues, public policy and international relations. Hence, he wanted to delve deeper into data-driven public policy design.

Virendra is an engineer by education, having graduated from IIT Bombay with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and a keen interest in structural engineering. He is also a basketball and cricket fanatic, an NBA geek and a fitness enthusiast. You can identify him with his gym bag in the office. Feel free to reach out to him for a game of basketball.
