Purpose

CEEW seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Engagement Associate, Donor Engagement. CEEW offers an intellectually challenging and conducive work environment with a focus on research rigour, innovative thinking, and strategic outreach. We are looking for an articulate “go-getter” who is detail-oriented and adept at coordinating across teams. The successful applicant will be instrumental in cultivating a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with key supporters of CEEW's mission. They serve as the primary point of contact, fostering open communication, ensuring smooth collaboration, and providing insights on the latest sectoral trends. Through strategic engagement, s/he will drive deeper partnerships, align goals, and unlock new opportunities for shared success.  

Job Duties and Accountabilities

Strategic Research 

  • Systematically track and analyse policy, business, and technology-related developments in India's energy, industry, environment, and developmental pathways in the context of national priorities and socioeconomic dimensions. 
  • Conduct research and build insights to identify emerging trends/opportunities in the areas of mutual interest. 
  • Position CEEW’s research to respond to the latest discourse on climate change adaptation and mitigation globally and in India. 
  •  Support the Director - Research Coordination (DRC) in aligning CEEW’s strategic priorities with the donor’s interests and help drive priority into the research activities and initiatives of the various teams. 

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain a strong rapport with donor representatives, understanding their interests and priorities to facilitate communication and collaboration between CEEW and the donor. 
  • Proactively engage with the donor through regular meetings, updates, and briefings.
  • Track KPI performance of various teams engaged on the specific grant(s), and ensure close alignment with proposed activities. 
  • Represent CEEW at donor events and meetings as required. 

Reporting and Communication

  • Coordinate the development of periodic activity reports detailing the progress and impact of donor-funded projects. 
  • Work with administrative research assistance in planning and executing meetings and events (consultations, workshops and roundtables) initiated by the various teams (usually government activities), including emailing attendees and following up. 
  • Manage donor data and ensure accurate and timely reporting. 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to fundraising efforts as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of donor engagement strategies. 
  • Stay informed about best practices in donor engagement and relationship management. 

Selection Criteria 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/postgraduate degree in development studies, political science, public policy, international relations, journalism or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in policy analysis or relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of India’s energy transition, policy and regulatory environment. 
  • Experience in Grants Management will be considered as an advantage
