Notable because

The introduction of these standards by the Bureau of India Standards (BIS) may improve customer usability and increase the charger utilisation rate for charging point operators (CPOs). It could also reduce some of the financial risks associated with the EV sector. Furthermore, the interoperability of the charging network will increase the EV penetration, and widespread EV roaming may be achieved.

What to look out for in the months ahead

Will this standardisation build confidence for the EV financiers? Whether these standards further trickle down to standardisation of one or two types of chargers as per the power requirement of an EV?
