In 2023, India announced the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to set up at least 5 MMT per annum of green hydrogen production facilities by 2030 and become a green hydrogen export hub. The agreement to offtake green ammonia by Japan is a significant development in this direction. In addition to the agreement with the offtaker, the financing of the green hydrogen and green ammonia production facility has been tied up with REC.
