Akriti Tyagi

Director – Strategic Communications

Akriti has joined The Council as Director – Strategic Communications under the Outreach team. Over the last 20 years, her work has spanned media, publishing, brand strategy, corporate communications, and public engagement – building communication ecosystems that connect institutions with people and ideas. At CEEW, she will focus on strengthening strategic storytelling, institutional visibility, and narrative-building around climate, sustainability, energy transition, and equitable development.

Before joining The Council, Akriti served as Director – Marketing & Corporate Communications at HarperCollins Publishers India, where she led integrated marketing, brand strategy, corporate communications, audience engagement, and author campaigns across the publishing portfolio. During her tenure, HarperCollins India was recognised multiple times as Publisher of the Year, and she drove several landmark literary campaigns and reader-community initiatives. Prior to publishing, she spent over a decade at NDTV, working across programming, editorial properties, partnerships, and large-scale public campaigns.

Akriti holds a Master's in Media Management from the University of Westminster, UK, and a specialised programme in Corporate Communication from Cornell University. She graduated from the University of Delhi as an All-India topper. Outside work, she is an avid reader, an occasional writer, and a relentless traveller who collects bookstores and cafés across cities the way others collect souvenirs. Her debut novel, The Un-Wife Club, releases October ‘26.
