Anurag Sahu

Research Consultant

Anurag Sahu has joined The Council as a Research Consultant with the Climate Resilience Team. He holds a Master's degree in Atmospheric Science from the Central University of Rajasthan and has over three years of experience in meteorology. At The Council, he supports the team in analysing weather patterns, physical risk analysis, handling climate model data, and complex geospatial data analysis.

Prior to joining the Council, Anurag worked with the Ministry of Earth Sciences and various international consulting groups. He also worked as a research intern at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune. During his master's programme, he collaborated with scientists from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, as part of his dissertation work on key short-lived climate pollutants (k-SLCPs). Anurag has published a peer-reviewed research paper and has presented his work at international scientific conferences. His research interests include climate variability, mesoscale modelling, and climate policy. He is also passionate about teaching and has provided technical guidance to master's students in atmospheric and climate sciences.

Outside of work, Anurag is passionate about solo travel, swimming, creating handmade clay pottery and discovering the best food spots. In the virtual world, he unwinds by exploring Google Earth and binge‑watching FRIENDS. In the real world, he enjoys exploring new cities.
