Charmi is a public policy professional in the field of finance and regulation, across sectors of infrastructure, health, and climate. At the CEEW Centre for Energy Finance, Charmi’s work focuses on climate finance regulation, corporate carbon disclosures, and carbon markets. Prior to joining The Council, she was a researcher at XKDR Forum, where she published several research pieces in the fields of infrastructure contracting, contractual litigation, sub-national electricity regulation and public finance.

She is also a Consultant Economist with the Asian Development Bank, where she works with the Public Sector Management Group across infrastructure, social protection and fintech programs. She has widely published her research across platforms such as Down to Earth, ORF, NDTV Profit and the LEAP Blog. She holds a Master's in Public Policy from the National Law School of India University (Bangalore), and undergraduate degrees in economics and law from the University of Mumbai.
