Divyanshu Sharma
Research Analyst
Divyanshu is a Research Analyst on the Climate Resilience team at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). He plays a vital role in urban resilience planning by utilizing climate change insights and risk analytics, along with geospatial modeling. His focus is on evaluating risks tied to urban heat, pollution, and infrastructure weaknesses, all through the lens of Earth observation data, GIS technologies, and spatial statistics. The work he does is crucial in shaping climate action plans at both state and local levels, and he helps develop detailed climate risk indices that inform data-driven policymaking.
He earned his Master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS (Geoinformatics) from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO - Dehradun , where his thesis explored the spatiotemporal changes in planetary boundary layer height using GNSS observations throughout India. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow. Divyanshu has also gained valuable experience working with organizations like Equator Geo and the Public Works Department, contributing to projects related to state climate action planning, infrastructure surveys, and digital elevation modeling.
Outside of work, Divyanshu is a passionate traveler who loves to dive into different cultures, especially through their food. He enjoys cooking, playing the guitar and piano, and staying active with regular gym sessions. A true movie buff with eclectic tastes, he’s also deeply interested in the latest developments in artificial intelligence, particularly how they can improve climate analytics and geospatial research.
