Electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India: Solutions for industry, policy, and regulatory challenges

17 Dec 2019   |   15:30 - 16:30 hrs IST

The government of India has embarked on a mission to significantly increase the share of electrified vehicles in India by 2030. In the recently approved FAME-II Scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India), a budgetary outlay of INR 10,000 crore (over three years) has been planned which focusses on electrification of public and shared transportation. Charging infrastructure is a crucial link to scale up the deployment of electric vehicles across the country.

The webinar, structured as a Q&A, will highlight the key industry, policy, and regulatory challenges regarding EV charging infrastructure and suggest interventions for electrification of public and shared transportation in order to meet India’s ambitious targets. The webinar will also deliberate on the role of various regulatory agencies like the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Department of Heavy Industries, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, NITI Aayog, local electricity utilities, and others.
