Milan George Jacob

Communications Specialist

Milan is a multimedia storyteller. With an interdisciplinary background, he has collaborated with researchers, filmmakers, artists and development practitioners to raise awareness and inspire action on climate change, sustainable development and public health-related issues.

At The Council, he focuses on special communications projects and data storytelling. He conceptualised and created the multi-award-winning short documentary series Faces of Climate Resilience and co-created a first-of-its-kind art x climate initiative, Sustaina India. Earlier, he also led the digital vertical of the Outreach team.

Before joining The Council, Milan worked with the TB Call to Action project of the Resource Group for Education and Advocacy for Community Health, supported by USAID. During the project, he engaged closely with TB survivors and journalists in New Delhi and six eastern Indian states in advocacy to end TB. Before moving to the non-profit sector, he was a part of the editorial team at HT Media Ltd in New Delhi.

Milan is trained in economics, journalism and anthropology. Watching world cinema, reading philosophical fiction, and brooding are his staples. He finds running and hiking cathartic. On weekends, he's usually busy with culinary expeditions or watching sports.

  • What I believe in

Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life—and travel—leaves marks on you.

    What Others say

Milan digests data for breakfast. Research findings are translated into engaging narratives under his hand. And his facility with the DSLR, gives us, the team, the edge we were missing.
