Pankaj has joined The Council as an Engagement lead for the state of Uttarakhand in the Energy Transition team. His role revolves around strategic collaboration with the state government to promote solar energy adoption, advocating for robust policy frameworks, and streamlining solarization processes across various consumer segments. Pankaj's efforts are geared towards driving sustainable growth in solar installations throughout the state.

With over 14 years of experience, Pankaj was previously a Nodal Officer at BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, for solar net metering, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs). He played a key role in addressing the new metering methods like VNM & GNM, challenges of rooftop solar (RTS)/MW-level solar integration with existing grids, while also designing solutions to mitigate grid-related issues. His technical acumen extends to the design of distribution transformers, fault analysis, and the development of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for grid engineers to reduce system faults.

Pankaj has a rich experience in EHV substation O&M and Engineering. He has worked in Mumbai transmission business automation, maintaining the 220KV Grid and Network to a system availability of more than 99.7%. Pankaj has also worked in construction to commissioning of EHV/UHV transmission line where he has worked in country prestigious project such as -400KV Parwati Koldwam Transmission company limited, 400KV quad moose Karcham Wangtoo to Abdulapur & other projects of Reliance power transmission company limited that includes 2400MW Samlakot power plant construction.

Pankaj holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical engineering and a Master's in Power Engineering. He is also a Certified Energy Manager, Solar Trainer & IMS Auditor. In his personal time, Pankaj finds solace in running, having participated in major marathons and half-marathons across Delhi and Mumbai. A cricket enthusiast and part-time player, he also has a passion for reading, averaging 6-7 books per year.
