Pratha Mishra
Research Analyst
Pratha has joined The Council as a Research Analyst in the Sustainable Water team. Pratha’s work focuses on climate resilience, water resource management, and hydrological assessments.
Previously, she worked as a Consultant at the Population Council, researching climate-induced migration, just energy transition, and renewable energy-powered lift irrigation. She holds a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, and a Master's in Water Science and Governance from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi.
During her postgraduate studies, she interned at the IPCA Centre for Waste Management and Research, conducting literature reviews on global water trading practices, and at GuruJal, working on hydrological assessments of a lake using remote sensing and modelling. She also trained with the Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI) India, using MIKE+ River modelling for flood inundation mapping. Her dissertation analysed flash flood risks in the Ravi River Basin through a multi-criteria analysis.
Beyond work, she has a deep appreciation for music, and is passionate about literature, particularly works exploring the niche intersections of environment and society, with Amitav Ghosh and Arundhati Roy among her favourite authors. Travelling to mountains and riversides offers her a chance to reset, and she also enjoys binge-eating while binge-watching sitcoms.
