Priyanka has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Climate Resilience team, where she works on advancing resilience to extreme heat, with a particular interest in using quantitative methods to understand how heat affects people and communities.

She completed her BS-MS in Mathematics from IISER Berhampur, where her research spanned survey data analysis, convex optimisation, probability and topological data analysis. For her master's thesis at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, she explored the application of persistent homology to network and time-series data, including an application to music. Beyond academics, she has volunteered on accessible education initiatives with the Chetna Institute of Mentally Handicapped and led science communication efforts in college.

Outside work, Priyanka is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and enjoys long walks, colour walks being her latest obsession, along with travel and food documentaries and experimenting with recipes, especially traditional Odia cuisine.
