Saakshi works as a Research Analyst with the Power Markets team at The Council. Her work focuses on Demand-Side Management (DSM) and ToD tariffs in the power generation and distribution value chain for the energy transition towards renewables.

Saakshi holds a graduation in Economics (Hons) from the University of Calcutta and a post-graduation in Economics from Shiv Nadar University. Her research interest lies in environmental and political economics. Before this, she got the opportunity to intern at the Council under the Air Quality (Clean cooking) team working on alternative clean cooking technologies. This sparked her interest in public policies and their impact assessment, culminating in a dissertation on the link between household savings and rising income inequality in India.

Saakshi's dedicated to making a difference, starting with a project called "Len Den" to help stray dogs in her hometown. Her love for photography and writing captures life's moments uniquely. Known for her quirky taste in snacks, like chips dipped in ice cream, she finds joy in simple things like nature walks and chatting with birds. She lights up any party with her music choices and is actively involved in addressing the climate crisis through her work with The Council. She’s all about making a positive impact in her unique way.
