Saru Gupta
Consultant
Dr Saru has joined The Council as a Consultant with the Climate Resilience team. Her work focuses on bridging climate action and health by leveraging her diverse field experience to strengthen state-level climate resilience. She will be supporting the ongoing initiatives on heat, climate adaptation, WASH, and other cross-cutting sectors.
Prior to joining The Council, she worked as a Research Coordinator at PI India for Immunise in initiative. She has worked for almost 3 years as a Program officer at John Hopkins University affiliate organisation, JHPIEGO. Her projects included providing technical assistance, and support to the public health department, of the Government of Maharashtra for implementing Public health surveillance and Climate change and health initiatives as well as National programs. She has also worked as a Program Officer – Health at Wadhwani AI in advocating e-health solutions based at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) Government of India, E-health division.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Himachal Pradesh Shimla University and a master's in Public Health (Health Policy) from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Karnataka, Udupi. She is also a PhD scholar in Public health at IIHMR Jaipur. Outside of work, she loves to travel and explore new places, dance and listen to good music.
